Abstract

An introduction to a special topics issue of Transmotion dedicated to "red readings." These responses explore what happens when a non-native text is read from a native perspective. What disruptions in a text are made possible by reading it with native assumptions? What latent meanings can become apparent? What new meanings can be produced?
